| The service was formed to address specific issues in the management of diabetes, general endocrinology, osteoporosis, thyroid nodule management and undergraduate chronic disease examinination in London & the UK. The aim of the service is primarily to provide continuing updates and up skilling of primary care, GPwSI’s and medical students in this disease area via education seminars, workshops, GP surgery clinics, email consulting, patient notes review service and real life clinical cases examination. The service compromises of consultants, specialist registrars, diabetes specialist nurses, dietitians and podiatrists. These educational services are coordinated by Sala Salih, a former education coordinator at Brent PCT . External consulting advice is given by Dr. Senan Devendra , who is currently the lead consultant in diabetes management in Brent PCT and is also an honorary consultant endocrinologist at Central Middlesex Hospital, honorary senior lecturer in medicine at Imperial College London and a visiting clinical scientist at the University of Colorado. |
